2021/2022 HL Pre Registration Information
Submitted By Jim Borsodi on Monday, June 14, 2021
West Niagara Minor Hockey – 2021/2022 – House League West Niagara Minor Hockey (WNMH) is planning our 2021/22 season. There remains much uncertainty as to what restrictions will be in place as the situation with COVID continues to develop. As such, WNMHA is planning on keeping all House League programming in house (West Lincoln, Grimsby, Lincoln).

In the unlikely event that we do not have at least 6 teams in an age division we will put that group in Niagara District Local League (NDLL). We will make every effort to place kids on teams most appropriate to where you live. Like the past 2 seasons, we may ask some players to play for an alternate team due to roster space and or goalie requirements.

Prior to registering we wanted you to know what the basic plan is for each age group:

U8 – half ice only all season, we will look to form two Minor Development (MD) teams (what used to be called “Select”). The MD teams will play in the NDLL.

U9 – half ice until Jan 15th, full ice afterwards, we will look to form two MD teams (there is no REP for U9 anymore). The MD teams will play in the NDLL.

U11, U13, U15 – full ice all season, in house, as long as number of teams is a min of 6 for the group. Otherwise NDLL.

U18 – full ice all season, in house, games only, no practice

We encourage you register as soon as possible; we will be capping the number of teams - assuming normal roster sizes.

U8 and U9 is 18 players total (not worried about goalies in these age groups)

U11 and up is 15 skaters +2 goalies per team.

West Lincoln and Lincoln will cap at 2 teams for each age group. Grimsby will cap at 4 teams each.

Once full, additional registrants will be placed on waiting list. Note: players put on waiting list according to date/time stamp of registration. It’s first come first serve.

Obviously, if COVID restrictions remain in place we will adapt to whatever is required.

Thank You

Chris Berube
