Hello Minor Hockey Families  

Please take the time to review all the attached information as it provides the policies for all the facilities that West Niagara Minor Hockey uses.  

The following is the key points that we want followed at all facilities:

Face Coverings and Physical Distancing

·         Every person within an enclosed public space shall wear a face covering as required under the Niagara Region By-Law No. 2020-46.

o   Face coverings are to be worn in all off-ice areas

·         Physical distancing must be maintained at all times by staying at least 2 metres (or 6 feet) away from other people.

·         Wearing a face covering does not replace the need for physical distancing.

·         Physical distancing does not replace the need for wearing a face covering.

 

Screening/Waivers and Record Keeping

·         All Players and Parents are required to sign attendance sheet and pre-screen in advance of ice time.

·         All Players and Parents are required to complete waivers for facilities being used.

·         All forms will be provided through your team contacts

 

Capacities

·         Teams / Groups using dressing rooms and/or players’ benches will be limited to no more than 25 participants on the ice surface/lower arena level. This does not include referees, or coaches. Groups are encouraged to limit coaches.

·         Ice groups who have spectators will be limited to no more than 25 spectators in the seating area.

·         Only One parent / Guardian per player.

·         Dressing rooms will be assigned by staff based on the size of each rental group and operational needs.

·         Dressing rooms will be made available for a maximum of 15 minutes before rental time to 15 minutes after rental time.

·         Participants are required to come to the arena dressed to play exception is goalies wo may put larger equipment on at rink.

·         If a player cant tie own skates they must enter the facility with skates on and tied.

 

Facility Entry/Exit

·         Entry to the facility must not occur any earlier than 15 minutes before rental time.

·         All participants will enter through the main entrance.

·         Participants in the ice/arena area will exit following directional arrows.

·         Exit of the facility must occur no later than 15 minutes after rental time

 

Ice Operations

·         Permitted ice activities are organized sport with full equipment or public skating style.

·         Equipment not intended for ice use will not be permitted on the ice-surface.

·         Participants are asked to refrain from spitting.

 

Amenities

·         Showers will not be available at this time.

·         The lobby area will not be available at this time. Spectators who are waiting for participants must exit and wait outside the facility.

·         The concession will not be open.

·         Water fountains/filling stations may be available for bottle filling only. Participants should have their own bottle. It is recommended to bring bottles full of water to avoid needing to fill at the facility.

·         Please leave will all equipment on except for skates as dressing rooms are not permitted for showering or changing.

·         Please collect all of your belongings and discard any garbage in appropriate bins, ensuring that nothing is left behind.

·          

 

Non-Compliance

·         Verbal warning

·         Loss of ice for 1 week for the organization

·         Loss of ice for the season for the organization
